Te Piringa translates as the coming together of peoples and cultures. Our name was gifted to
us by the late Te Arikinui, Dame Te Atairangikaahu, the M?ori Queen. We first opened our doors in 1991, and we have been gathering together ever since. Our anniversary theme - 30 Years of New Frontiers - acknowledges that Te Piringa, as a Law Faculty, not only broke new ground at its inception, but continues to push outward into emerging and vital fields. From our founding commitment to biculturalism in our legal education, to research expertise in new legal domains, in these areas and more Te Piringa is a Faculty invested in celebrating new frontiers.
